Hey reader,

I'm glad you took the time to visit my site.

I have finally gotten out of my shell and started this site. I have always wanted to start a personal website but for some reason, I always find a way to talk myself out of it.

It wasn't until this summer that I realized that my excuses for not starting were unsubstantial, and they came out of a place of fear. The fear of putting myself online.

I've always been a reserved and introverted person who enjoys staying within my comfort zone. I mean who doesn't? It turns out that I will never get anything done if I remain within my comfort zone.

I enjoy reading, that is where I get most of my info from. I read whenever I get the chance or when I feel driven to. The books I read range from fiction to non-fiction, which is a genre that I recently got into.

One of the few non-fiction books I read recently is Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. It talks about how everyone should share their work, be it raw ideas, drafts, or unfinished projects. Some people are interested in the things you share and they will want to connect with you who knows, you can start a small community of people who love what you share.

Reading this book ignited the verve to start this site.

There are topics I am interested in, which I learn and read about, taking notes and highlights and I think... hm this is something I can talk about with someone.

But I don't.

The thing is, finding people offline to talk about stuff like this is limited. Not everyone may be interested in what you have to share, as everyone has something they care about. That is one of my motivations for starting this website.

I desire to add value to someone's life as well as mine, by engaging in conversation and sharing ideas.

I still have some getting used to putting myself out there. It's a small step and I look forward to the journey this takes me.

Have a nice day.

Dee.
